Back in August 1991, Tim Berners-Lee (the inventor of the World Wide Web)[1] published the world's first website. Berners-Lee was the first person to combine Internet communication with hypertext (which had been around for decades, but limited to browsing information stored on a single computer, such as interactive CD-ROMs).
