Program for the Future is a historic summit of leading intellectuals to launch a global grass-roots movement to promote the creation of tools for solving the urgent and complex problems facing humanity. The conference was organized by a small group of people committed to the ideas of Dr. Douglas C. Engelbart. Engelbart dreamed of technology and tools that increased our Collective Intelligence. Now it's up to us to take up the challenge. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Engelbart's astounding demo, the Program for the Future is bringing together some of the best minds in science, media, business and education -- to explore the question: what's next?

The Program for the Future is being held on Dec 8-9 2008.

The Program for the Future is also working with The Tech Museum of Innovation and the MIT Museum in the sponsorship of a global challenge to work together to design tools that facilitate collective problem-solving.

The Program for the Future is also the debut of the BETA limited edition of "Evolving Collective Intelligence" by Dr. Douglas C. Engelbar, Valerie Landau and Eileen Clegg. The mural "Engelbart in the Historical Landscape" by Eileen Clegg with Valerie Landau will also be debuted at the conference.
