Fascinated and intrigued by the lifestyle of a generation of their fellow peers they started the website as a nod to a golden era in UK fashion. With all time classics such as Lyle And Scott, Fila, Adidas alongside brands with timeless product like Penfield, One True Saxon, Barbour, Velour, Sebago and Andersons a one stop shop for the stylish, discerning male of all ages. With their first store (under the name Outnumbered) open on East London's Columbia Road, a second one looms just off Brick Lane stocking the following brands:-

Brands Offered

Lyle and Scott Vintage

Lyle and Scott has built a reputation as a high quality brand with a 130 year history in the design and manufacture of authentic Scottish knitwear handled with the hereditary skills of generations of fine craftsmen and women. Their products are found in some of the leading retail outlets throughout the world and are clearly recognizable by their trademark Eagle logo. Lyle And Scotts authentic foundation in casualwear began by clothing some of the world's greatest sports personalities and the dressing of prestigious tournaments since the sixties. This history plus the design team's unique skills makes Lyle & Scott a brand leader in the production of fit-for-purpose fashion led ranges.

Fila Vintage

Classic Italian Sportswear brand, much loved and sought after by the terraces. Over the years Fila have produced many iconic pieces, including the Bjorn Borg styles. Fila Vintage painstakingly recreates these styles from the archives, producing a truly authentic retro collection. We welcome you back Fila, with open arms.

Barbour

Since 1894, J Barbour and Sons have produced clothes perfectly suited for enjoyment of life beyond the city. It is commitment to quality and durability that has seen the name Barbour become synonymous with the best of country living.

Farah Vintage

Farah Slack was assimilated into British youth culture when a whole generation of young men - from mods and skins to the Jamaican ‘Stickmen’ – created regional fashion trends. Dressed in smart-casual clothing, the look spread and became firmly entwined within The Casual Scene, based on the Mods notion of secrecy and elitism. What is your Farah memory? Ask most guys who were teenagers in the mid 70’s to early 80’s and a smile creeps upon their faces as they recall their self-conscious years when they were fanatical about detail, obsessed with music and fashion and trying to make the cut in the playground.

Adidas Originals

Adolf Dassler was inspired by a single idea when he made his first shoes in 1920, at the age of just 20. His vision was to provide every athlete with the best footwear for his respective discipline. It was this principle that guided him right up until his death in 1978. 700 patents and other industrial property rights worldwide are proof of his permanent quest for perfection. Adopted as the shoe of choice for any self respecting casual, Adidas Originals has progressed this great brand further still with a fantastic range of reproduction trainers and clothing.

Burlington

BURLINGTON Argyle Socks through Europe. The unique check design hails from the Scottish Highlands and is the family tartan of the influential Campbell Clan headed by the Duke of Argyll. The characteristic check design – the Argyle – has been the original BURLINGTON brand design until today – with the explicit permission of the 12th Duke of Argyll (1937 – 2007). A little flash of colour between your trainers and Farahs as well as being the comfiest socks you can put on your feet makes Burlington a firm favourite for us all here at When We Were Casuals

Garbstore

Garbstore uses original fabrics often short loom made with the past in mind, Original Zippers that pay homage to the patterns used. Pieces have been re-imagined and made 'Historically new'. With products made using only vintage union machines in terms of their fit reproductions from genuine vintage clothing. All zips are vintage US talon and trims are real dead-stock vintage. Sweats and T's follow 1950's models with 420g premium weave Jersey and 200g five needle double neck for T's. The design follows the attention to detail and love for good men’s wear product set forth in the past without losing the relevance and aesthetic of a modern day clothing line

One True Saxon

Dress like a dude or a swell, nor carry a little poodle dog (a mans glory is his strength and manliness - not in aping silly girls), nor cock your hat on one side, nor tip it back on your head (let it sit straight and square), nor wear anything conspicuous or that will make you offensive to others.
