BONNEYVILLE MILL PARK is 2.5 mi. e. on SR 120, then .5 mi. s. on CR 131, on the Little Elkhart River. The 223-acre park contains one of the area's first water-powered gristmills with a turbine wheel. In operation since it was built in 1837, the mill still grinds corm, wheat, buckwheat and rye. Allow 1 hour minimum. Park open daily 9-dusk. Mill open daily 10-5, May-Oct. Milling takes place Sat.-Sun. and holidays at 11, 1, 2, 3 and 4, May-Oct. Free. Phone (219)35-6458.

ELKHART COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM, 304 W. Vistula St., traces area history. Exhibits arranged in vignettes include a replica of an emporium, with yesteryear's shops and products; pioneer craftsmanship displayed in a barn setting; and a one-room schoolhouse recalling the origin of the 1903 museum building.
